Delete a household
If you own a Rooted household, you can delete it from the app. Deleting a household removes it from Rooted and can remove access for other household members.
Before you delete a household
Household deletion is intended for households you own and no longer need. If you are a member of a household owned by someone else, Rooted may show Leave Household instead.
If other people still need the household, transfer ownership before deleting it. Otherwise, those members can lose access.
Delete a household in Rooted
- Open Rooted.
- Go to the household Profile tab.
- Find the Actions section.
- Select Delete Household.
- Read the confirmation message.
- Type the household name to confirm.
- Select Delete.
What household deletion affects
- The household is removed from the app.
- If other members have access, they immediately lose access to that household.
- If the deleted household was your active household, Rooted switches you to another available household or shows the no-household screen.
- Signed-in household deletion schedules the household for permanent deletion.
Can a deleted household be restored?
Deleted households can be restored within 30 days if the household owner contacts Rooted Support.
Email support@rootedapp.uk and include the household name and the email address used for Rooted.
If you do not see Delete Household
Rooted may show Leave Household when you are not the owner, or may ask you to transfer ownership before leaving a shared household. If you are unsure which action to take, contact support.
Email support@rootedapp.uk with the email address used for your Rooted account.
